The downtown area of Câmara de Lobos will be the stage this Saturday, September 26th, for an initiative focused on valuing local heritage and memory. This event is part of the 2026 European Heritage Days, themed 'Revive, resist, reinvent'.
The program starts at 10 AM near the bandstand in Praça da Autonomia. It will feature artists from the Urban Sketchers Madeira XVIII – (a)Riscar o Património project, who will be invited to depict Câmara de Lobos's heritage sites and landmarks through drawing.
This initiative aims to go beyond the material aspects of heritage, highlighting cultural memories and experiences. It is also integrated into ETAPA – Meeting of Theatre and Art in the Landscape and the 7th Madeira Art Fest. The goal is to bring different audiences and generations together through a participatory experience focused on the territory and collective memory.
