The 5th edition of the Mais Social Congress began this afternoon at the Madeira Press Museum in Câmara de Lobos. The two-day event will debate the theme ‘Social Economy vs. Impact Economy’, bringing together national professionals and specialists.
Paula Margarido replaced the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, at the opening session, which was cancelled due to a last-minute online meeting regarding the presidencies of the Outermost Regions (RUP). The congress, promoted by Casa São José, addresses current challenges in the social sector, emphasizing impact, innovation, and sustainability.
The program includes lectures on the impact of the Social Economy on the Portuguese economy, the importance of media for the sector, and workshops on accounting and communication. The second day will focus on social peace, innovation in dementia care, and public policies for homeless individuals.
