Catarina Alves, an athlete from Clube Naval do Funchal, has become a three-time national champion in breaststroke.
The swimmer competed in the XXVII Summer Open Masters National Championship, held in Famalicão from July 8 to 12, which saw nearly a thousand athletes participate.
Alves secured first place in all contested distances: 50 meters (39.74), 100 meters (1.28.31), and 200 meters (3.11.41). Additionally, she achieved the third-best sporting performance of the event in the 100m Breaststroke, with 746 points.
Bruno Martins, another athlete from Clube Naval do Funchal, also performed well, taking 3rd place in the 50 meters Backstroke with a time of 31.70.
