CDS-Machico marked the 32nd anniversary of Caniçal's elevation to town status, highlighting the parish's identity, history, and importance.
Roberto Silva, vice-president of CDS-Machico and a native of Caniçal, expressed pride in his roots and advocated for concrete responses for the population, including the enhancement of public spaces, improvement of the seafront, and creation of more leisure areas.
Silva also emphasized the importance of fishing, calling for better conditions for fishermen and the preservation of maritime traditions. Housing and youth retention were pointed out as priorities, with the party also warning about drug-related issues and advocating for increased prevention and security for young people.
