The Funchal municipal committee of the CDS-PP visited the Madeira Humanitarian Volunteer Firefighters Association on the evening of the previous day to recognise the commitment of those who have served the city over the past century.
Marking the institution's centenary, the party paid tribute to the Association and to everyone who has worn its uniform. Party president Pedro Pereira described the visit as an expression of gratitude on behalf of Funchal's residents.
According to a press note, the visit also addressed regional legislation that equalises payments for professional and non-professional firefighters, as well as the Association's social protection measures.
