The CDS-PP of Câmara de Lobos has called for the creation of a program supported by European funds to help preserve vineyards in the municipality.
This proposal comes in response to the loss of agricultural land due to construction, warned Lídio Aguiar, president of the centrist municipal structure, during a visit to the Grape Harvest Festival in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos.
Aguiar believes vineyards hold landscape, cultural, and economic value, suggesting financial compensation for producers who maintain their vineyards and incentives for wine companies to purchase and restore agricultural land.
