The local political committee of CDS-PP in Câmara de Lobos met to prepare its input on the 2027 municipal budget. Party representatives then met the city council's vice-president to discuss the document.
Priorities include a traffic optimisation plan, new parking areas, more bus shelters and additional electric vehicle charging points. On sanitation and the environment, the party proposes an agreement with the public company ARM to extend basic sanitation coverage and build a composting centre.
For agriculture, the party calls for a support plan for farmers hit by bad weather or pests, and new farm tracks. Cultural proposals include an inventory of local institutions' holdings and recordings of band repertoire, along with long-promised museums and an interpretive centre. A birth-rate measure targets Curral das Freiras, the parish with the largest population loss.
The final budget is expected to be presented and discussed shortly.
