The CDS-PP Madeira has submitted a motion of condolence to the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira for the passing of Maria Filomena Mina, a family doctor known as the "doctor of the people" in Santo António da Serra.
Maria Filomena Mina, originally from Porto, dedicated approximately four decades to caring for the local population, beginning her work at the Santo da Serra Health Centre in 1985. Over 40 years, she accompanied several generations of families, noted for her closeness and the trusting relationship she built with the community.
CDS-PP deputy Sara Madalena highlighted the doctor's dedication, whose work extended beyond consultations to include assisting with healthcare management and support in vulnerable situations. Her professional practice was marked by individual attention and availability. The memory of Maria Filomena Mina is also honoured in local place names, with Rua Dra. Filomena Mina bearing her name.
The party extended condolences to her family, friends, and the community, acknowledging the doctor's contribution to primary healthcare and the well-being of the people of Santo António da Serra.
