The Popular Youth of Madeira (JP Madeira) has initiated a series of meetings with various entities to analyze the challenges young Madeirans face in accessing housing, gaining autonomy, and realizing family projects.
Under the slogan “Building the Future — Home, Family, and Birth Rate,” the initiative aims to gather contributions from cooperatives, associations, professional bodies, and business and social entities. The meetings, running until October 8th, cover topics from first-time home access and construction costs to economic independence and work-life balance.
JP Madeira president Leandro Silva emphasized the need to analyze these issues interconnectedly, considering that economic and housing conditions directly impact young people's personal and family decisions. The organization plans to publicize the main topics discussed to foster reflection on the conditions necessary for the future of young people in the region.
