CDU held a political event in Vale Paraíso, Camacha, to discuss an environmental and public health issue near the Vale Paraíso Housing Complex. Regional coordinator Edgar Silva accused the government of "grave disrespect for the population".
According to CDU, the industrial laundry 'Dorilimpa' was legalized close to residences, allegedly with the intervention of the Regional Government and the Santa Cruz Municipal Chamber. Edgar Silva criticized the industrial unit's proximity to homes, separated only by a wire fence, questioning land-use planning rigor.
CDU highlights the laundry's "profound negative impacts" on public health, well-being, and quality of life due to emissions of fumes, bad odors, and constant noise. The party demands that the Regional Government and the Santa Cruz Municipal Chamber take "urgent measures" to resolve the problems they allegedly created.
