CDU denounces industrial laundry near homes in Camacha

The CDU criticized the location and operation of an industrial laundry near a housing complex in Camacha, warning of environmental and public health issues.

The CDU held a political initiative in Camacha to denounce the presence and operation of an industrial laundry, "Dorilimpa", next to the Vale Paraíso Housing Complex. Regional coordinator Edgar Silva criticized what he considers a disregard for the population by the authorities.

According to the CDU, the legalization of the laundry, which operates just meters from residences with only a wire fence separating them, involved the Regional Government and the Santa Cruz Municipal Chamber. The proximity raises questions about land use planning.

Edgar Silva highlighted the negative impacts on public health, physical and social well-being, and residents' right to a quality of life. Issues include the continuous release of fumes, bad odors, and noise from the boiler equipment, occurring seven days a week. The CDU demands that the Regional Government and the Santa Cruz Municipal Chamber urgently resolve these problems, which the party claims they themselves created.
