Hugo Nunes, leader of Chega and a candidate for deputy, questioned the economic management of the Madeira Regional Government, stating that the executive's "balanced books" do not reflect the financial reality of the citizens.
Nunes accused the government of granting "favors to friends of the regime" and "suffocating the middle class," pushing people towards dependence on government aid. He rejected the narrative of economic success presented by the government, contrasting it with the difficulties faced by the population.
The CH leader also drew a comparison with the era of Alberto João Jardim, suggesting that while there might have been "waste," there was also "work done," something he claims is lacking now, where "there is only waste."
