CHEGA criticizes PSP Regional Command over suspension of Accident Brigade

CHEGA MP Francisco Gomes has criticized the PSP Regional Command of Madeira, labeling the situation "damaging management." The Accident Brigade will be suspended until the end of September due to staff shortages and an internal reorganization.

According to information provided to the MP, the brigade will operate under the operational dependence of the 1st Precinct, with its interventions conditioned by the precinct's needs. Francisco Gomes warned that this measure could cause delays in accident response, particularly during peak traffic hours on the main road, which he finds concerning.

The parliamentarian argues that suspending a specialized brigade due to a lack of personnel does not solve the problem but hides it, penalizing officers and the public. He demands explanations regarding the operational and road safety impact of the decision, stating that the shortage of human and operational resources in the PSP of Madeira cannot be ignored by national oversight.
