Competition Authority Approves Grupo Sousa's Acquisition of Alcotrans and FJRL

The Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC) has approved the acquisition of joint control of Alcotrans – Agentes Transitários and FJRL – Logística de Transportes by Grupo Sousa Investimentos.

The decision not to oppose the concentration operation was made by the regulator, which deemed that the transaction "is not likely to create significant obstacles to effective competition in the national market or a substantial part thereof." The AdC made this decision in coordination with the Mobility and Transport Authority (AMT).

Grupo Sousa Investimentos is a maritime-port, logistics, and energy group based in Madeira, with holdings in various companies across port operations, transport, logistics, and energy sectors.
