Regional Secretariat of Economy launches ARIA-Empresas to boost AI adoption in Madeira's SMEs

The Regional Secretariat of Economy presents the Regional Agenda for Artificial Intelligence for Businesses (ARIA-Empresas) to accelerate AI adoption by SMEs.

The Regional Secretariat of Economy, through the Regional Directorate for Competitiveness, Innovation and Sustainability (DRCIS), will present the Regional Agenda for Artificial Intelligence for Businesses (ARIA-Empresas) on Thursday, September 17th.

This strategy aims to promote and accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The initiative arises in a context where only 9.4% of Portuguese small businesses use AI, a figure below the European average.

ARIA-Empresas sets an ambitious goal to increase the percentage of Madeiran SMEs using AI to at least 25% by 2030, with estimated productivity gains between 15% and 20%. The event will also introduce the "dIArio do Empresário" (Businessman's Diary) and the "Responsible AI Company Madeira" seal.
