On October 19th at 6 PM, the Sacred Art Museum in Funchal will host a conference titled 'St. Francis of Assisi Protecting the Hierarchies of the Church. Other Plausible (Re)readings'.
The speaker will be Rita Rodrigues, who holds a PhD in Intercultural Studies. She will review the painting of the same name, a piece from the museum's collection. Admission is free.
Rodrigues' research focuses on 15th-19th century painting, architecture, tilework, imagery, and wood carving, particularly artistic commissions in Madeira. She has published works in various regional, national, and international publications.
