Councillors Luís Filipe Santos and Jorge Afonso Freitas participated in the Patron Saint of Monte Procession, highlighting strong popular participation and calling for greater political attention to the parish throughout the year.
They thanked the Parish of Monte, volunteers, and all involved in organizing the procession, which they described as "wonderful," marked by "enormous faith, devotion, and sense of community."
The elected officials emphasized that the celebration should also serve to remember the issues affecting the parish, such as improving accessibility, maintaining paths, safety, cleanliness, and public space conservation. They also drew attention to worn signage and the need for better information boards, advocating for a closer relationship between the Municipal Council, the population, and local institutions.
