The Port of Funchal received the cruise ship 'Azura', operated by P&O Cruises, on Monday morning. The vessel carries 3,094 passengers and 1,123 crew members.
The ship, handled by Blatas, began berthing at 6:30 at Quay 2 of the Molhe da Pontinha and will remain until 22:00 before sailing for Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. Its one-week cruise also calls at Tenerife and La Palma.
The same morning, the Dutch sailing vessel 'Gulden Leeuw', with 31 crew on board, shared the port. For Tuesday, the APRAM port authority expects three more cruise ships, which together could bring more than 7,400 people to Funchal.
