CTT – Correios de Portugal is reinforcing postal deliveries across the Autonomous Region of Madeira, aiming to restore normal service after weeks of disruption. The company has announced the implementation of a recovery plan that will increase distribution capacity by 25% through additional staff, a larger vehicle fleet, and more delivery routes.
The measures also include a reorganization of internal operations and the expansion of alternative parcel collection services, such as the Locky automated locker network and partner collection points. CTT expects to expand the Locky network to 50 lockers by installing 30 new units across the Region.
The company stated that priority has been given to delivering critical correspondence, including pension vouchers, and that the measures already introduced are beginning to produce positive results. Recruitment of additional staff is continuing, considered essential for restoring normal operations, following complaints of significant delays in mail delivery.
