The Empresa de Eletricidade da Madeira, SA (EEM) has announced that electricity supply will be interrupted in various locations on the island due to maintenance and network upgrades.
The outages are scheduled for Caniço (Santa Cruz) on July 27, 2026, from 08:30 to 10:30, affecting Caminho Velha da Tendeira and Vereda Mestre Nunes. In Funchal (São Roque), the interruption is planned for July 28, 2026, from 09:00 to 12:00, in the areas of Caminho do Lombo Segundo and Salão São Roque.
Furthermore, in Arco da Calheta (Calheta), power will be cut on July 28, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:15, in the Sítio do Pinheiro area. In Canhas (Ponta do Sol), the interruption will occur on the same day and time, covering the Sítios das Eiras, da Cancela (Vacaria), da Malhadinha (Britadeira), da Cova Grande, do Chope, da Levada do Poiso, and do Pomar Ovo Girão Estaleiro AFA.
EEM advises that power may be restored earlier than scheduled and, for safety reasons, conductors should be considered permanently live. The company requests consumers' understanding for any inconvenience caused.
