The Diocese of Funchal will present its Pastoral Program for the 2026/2027 ecclesiastical year on Saturday, July 25th. The event is scheduled for 10:30 AM at the Colégio Church and is open to all faithful, pastoral agents, and diocesan communities.
Under the motto 'Be Doers of the Word,' the program aims to place God's Word at the center of Christian life and pastoral action. Inspired by the Letter of Saint James, the document emphasizes that faith must manifest in works, testimony, and commitment, going beyond mere listening.
The program highlights Christ as the center of God's living Word, promoting a missionary Church committed to charity, justice, and peace. It proposes the involvement of laity, consecrated persons, and ordained ministers in building more vibrant and missionary communities, with an emphasis on strengthening biblical formation and promoting Lectio Divina.
