Diocese of Funchal Raises 70,000 Euros for Venezuela

The Diocese of Funchal has collected around 70,000 euros through a solidarity campaign aimed at supporting the population of Venezuela in the aftermath of earthquakes.

This amount currently comes from donations from about 30 parishes. Bishop D. Nuno Brás believes the final sum could reach close to 100,000 euros as contributions from the weekends of July 4th and 5th are tallied.

Bishop D. Nuno Brás expressed gratitude for the generosity of the Madeiran people, noting the campaign's broad reach across parishes, religious congregations, and individuals. The funds will be transferred to Cáritas Venezuela once the necessary verification and transfer procedures are completed.
