Regional Secretary Eduardo Jesus, speaking at Mesclarte'26, highlighted how island conditions shape thought, imagination, and creativity, setting Madeira apart from other territories.
He underscored the connection between Madeiran identity, landscape, memory, and artistic creation across fields such as painting, literature, music, and architecture. Jesus also congratulated Sérgio Gonçalo for the initiative's 12th edition and acknowledged the media's role in promoting the project.
The Regional Secretary stressed the importance of "doers" who bring ideas to fruition, contrasting with a society of "much opinion and little realization." Gastronomy and chefs as creators of memorable experiences were also noted, alongside the need to embrace the unknown and seek new perspectives.
