Electric scooter filmed at nearly 100 km/h on Madeira expressway

A video circulating on social media shows an electric scooter traveling at high speed on a Madeira expressway, raising safety concerns.

A video circulating on social media, particularly TikTok, shows an individual riding an electric scooter inside a tunnel on the Madeira expressway, apparently on the stretch between Seixal and São Vicente.

According to the person who shared the images, recorded with a helmet-mounted action camera, a speed close to 100 km/h was reached. This value, if confirmed, far exceeds the legal limit for this type of vehicle and for this road.

Electric scooters are considered bicycles by the Highway Code, with a speed limit of 25 km/h, and their use is prohibited on expressways and highways. Non-compliance can result in fines and vehicle seizure.
