A TAP flight to Lisbon, scheduled for early Friday morning, experienced a delay of almost 7 hours due to an electrical issue identified on the aircraft.

Passengers on flight TP1696, originally set to depart at 4:05 AM, had boarded but were asked to disembark after 40 minutes. TAP stated that technicians needed to inspect and repair the fault in accordance with safety protocols.

During the wait, the airline provided meal vouchers. The departure time was repeatedly postponed, causing concern among passengers, many of whom feared missing connecting flights due to the significant delay.
