The Madeira Electricity Company, SA (EEM) has announced that the electricity supply will be interrupted in certain areas of Funchal and Caniço. These interruptions are due to conservation and renovation work on the distribution network.
In Funchal, within the Santa Maria Maior parish, power will be cut on September 19, 2026, between 09:00 and 12:00. Affected streets include Caminho do Meio, Rua do Bom Sucesso, Entrada do Bom Sucesso, Rua do Cabeço do Ferro, and Travessa do Jardim Botânico.
In Caniço, Santa Cruz municipality, the interruption will take place on September 21, 2026, from 09:00 to 13:00. Only numbers 6, 8, and 10 on Rua da Calçada will be affected. EEM requests the understanding of consumers for any inconvenience and warns that power may be restored before the scheduled time, so conductors should be considered permanently live for safety reasons.
