Funchal will host the second edition of ENSEADA – Funchal Arts Festival 2026, taking place from September 17 to 19. The initiative, organized by the Funchal City Council with co-financing from the European Union via Madeira 2030 / Portugal 2030, was presented at the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre.
The festival represents an investment of 197,000 euros and aims to enhance the city's cultural offerings, bringing together over 200 artists and 20 associations. The program includes around 30 performances and initiatives across various artistic disciplines and city locations, such as Praça Amarela, the Municipal Garden Auditorium, and Largo do Corpo Santo.
The focus is on local artists and cultural entities, seeking to involve sector agents and bring art beyond conventional venues. The dispersion throughout the territory is a hallmark of the event, extending to streets, commercial establishments, and other points in the city center, bringing art closer to daily life and transforming the urban core into a space for creation and encounters.
