A serious accident on the Via Rápida 1 (VR1) in the Santa Cruz area has resulted in one fatality and left at least two people injured. The collision occurred late in the afternoon, involving two vehicles.
One of the cars reportedly crossed the central divider, entering the opposing lane of traffic. Responders at the scene included the Santa Cruz Volunteer Firefighters, a Portuguese Red Cross ambulance, and EMIR. The incident caused significant traffic jams in both directions of the highway.
