Filipe Sousa Criticizes State Budget for Failing on Mobility and Ferry Link

MP Filipe Sousa, elected for the JPP, criticized the 2027 State Budget, stating that despite the millions of euros allocated for Madeira, it fails to present concrete solutions for essential issues.

Sousa highlighted that while funds are allocated for the Regional Finance Law and compensation for the absence of the Cohesion Fund, these should not be viewed as new investment. He also pointed out the lack of defined amounts for the new Central and University Hospital and for civil protection air assets.

The JPP regrets the absence of a mechanism for territorial continuity and the passenger and freight ferry link, criticizing the lack of a clear solution for Madeiran residents to pay only the final airfare and for public funding of maritime connections.
