Two students from Francisco Franco secondary school won the secondary category of the Pinóquio na Escola contest in Lisbon.

Students Maria Câmara and Gonçalo Pereira, from Francisco Franco secondary school, received the first-place prize in the secondary category of the Pinóquio na Escola contest on 30 October in Lisbon.

The students, in the Socio-Economic Sciences course, were supervised by teacher Helena Ramos and won for the Autonomous Region of Madeira with the project "OS FACTCHECK". Seven winning teams, one from each region, attended the ceremony at the European Commission Representation in Portugal.

The contest is promoted by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and run by Polígrafo to recognise work fighting disinformation. The school had already won the first edition with "A Desinformação da Imigração".
