This Friday morning began with heavy traffic and congestion on Madeira's Via Rápida. The main bottleneck is located on the ascent from Caniço towards Funchal.
The congestion, caused by high traffic volume, stretches for about 5 kilometers in the Machico-Ribeira Brava direction. The "squeeze" is occurring in the Cancela area and extends to the Pestana Júnior junction.
The concessionaire has not yet reported other areas with significant traffic, but there are indications that further bottlenecks may emerge throughout the day.
