The Funchal Municipal Chamber has approved a budget amendment allocating two million euros to its municipal affordable rental program. Of this amount, 500,000 euros will be allocated in 2025 and 1.5 million euros in the following year.
Mayor Jorge Carvalho explained that the initiative aims to strengthen the response to housing access difficulties in the city. The program intends to facilitate the rental of available properties on the market, supporting residents.
With this investment, the municipality hopes to mitigate housing challenges and promote greater stability for residents seeking affordable rental solutions.
