The Deputy Mayor of Funchal, Carlos Rodrigues, expressed strong disapproval of the speech given by the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, during the official ceremony for the 148th anniversary of the PSP Madeira Regional Command.
Rodrigues, via his Facebook page, described the moment as "one of the most embarrassing in politics," feeling "secondhand embarrassment" at the minister's "self-praise." He deemed the speech "an elegy to absurdity, a gross lack of elegance, and a total violation of the ethics and honor that should preside over such ceremonies."
