The Funchal Municipal Chamber believes there is currently no immediate risk to the structure of the building affected by the fire on Rua do Sabão. This stance was taken by Carlos Rodrigues, the municipality's vice-president, who stated that municipal Civil Protection services are monitoring the situation.
Rodrigues explained that technical assessments following the fire did not detect the same level of risk that necessitated demolitions in nearby structures. Nevertheless, the municipality continues to evaluate and monitor the building, acknowledging the complexity of the old city area.
