The Funchal Folk International Folklore Festival – Arraial do Mundo returns to Funchal between August 17 and 21, bringing together groups from various countries. The Imaculado Coração de Maria will host three nights of performances, organized by the MonteVerde Folklore Group.
The festival begins on August 17 with the official opening ceremony at Largo do Colégio. The main performances will take place in the courtyard of the Imaculado Coração de Maria Parish Church on August 17, 18, and 19, starting at 9:00 PM, featuring groups from Slovakia, Croatia, Brazil, France, Spain, Lithuania, and Poland, alongside the hosts and the Cabacinhas de Santiago group from Viseu.
The program also includes a parade through the center of Funchal on the 19th, a dance workshop and the "Tropical Night – Madeira Nights" initiative on August 20, concluding on August 21 with a procession and the Final Gala. The event is the only festival certified by CIOFF in Madeira.
