The 15th edition of Funchal Folk – Arraial do Mundo kicks off next Monday, August 17th, bringing folklore and traditional expressions from various countries to different parts of Funchal city.
Organized by Grupo de Folclore Monteverde, the event includes 11 participating groups from Portugal, Spain, Slovakia, Poland, Croatia, Lithuania, France, and Brazil. The official presentation is scheduled for 5:30 PM on August 17th, at Praça do Município.
The festival, part of CIOFF, will feature performances at locations such as the courtyard of the Imaculado Coração de Maria Church and parades through Funchal's streets, concluding with the Final Gala at the Jardim Municipal Auditorium. The event also marks the start of Funchal City's commemorative festivities.
