Visiting hours for patients admitted to the Emergency Department of Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital have been temporarily suspended due to the high patient volume, SESARAM reported. The situation was highlighted by relatives who noted restrictions in recent days and, at times, late notification of the suspension.
SESARAM clarified that the measure, determined by clinical and nursing leadership, aims to ensure flow management, clinical activity, and patient safety. Currently, 51 patients are awaiting admission, in addition to those continuously arriving at the department.
The health service assures that vulnerable situations are safeguarded and assessed individually. Normal visiting hours will resume once conditions permit. Information regarding patients' clinical status can be obtained from the Family Support Office.
