The Funchal Municipal Chamber is promoting a public tender worth €5 million, aimed at repairing several dozen streets in the city that show signs of wear and tear.
Mayor Jorge Carvalho announced that a needs assessment is complete and the most urgent repairs are being addressed with municipal resources.
The plan includes coordination with other entities, such as ARM and the Madeira Electricity Company, to avoid duplicate interventions. The schedule for larger projects will depend on the tender process and will prioritize dry weather and, where possible, school holiday periods to minimize traffic disruption.
