The Funchal Municipal Chamber has been honored with the Esri 25+ Award at the Esri Portugal Users Meeting 2026. The distinction recognizes over two decades of using and developing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as strategic tools for knowledge, planning, and territorial management.
This award highlights the municipality's continuous investment in technological modernization and the production of quality geographic information. The FNC.CITYLAB project, with an investment of 1.08 million euros, strengthens urban planning, environmental, and enforcement areas, aiming for a more efficient and citizen-oriented public administration.
