The Funchal Municipal Chamber (CMF) has made public the road traffic alterations that will come into effect on September 2, 2026. These changes involve the creation of BUS corridors on several city streets, including Rua 5 de Outubro, Rua 31 de Janeiro, and Rua do Visconde de Anadia.
The implementation of these BUS corridors, reserved for regular public transport, taxis, and emergency vehicles, will also lead to a reorganization of public transport stops. Some stops will be eliminated, others relocated, and the capacity of certain bays will be increased. Furthermore, changes will be made on Rua da Infância, with the removal of paid parking spaces to facilitate traffic flow.
