Eduardo Miranda, president of the Local Accommodation Association in Portugal, has accused Funchal's Municipal Regulation for Local Accommodation of containing illegalities.
According to Miranda, the way containment areas were established lacks legal framework. He states that the current regulation exclusively benefits large investors.
Miranda expressed concern that this regulation might serve as a model for other municipalities in Madeira, warning about its potential consequences.
