The supply of houses available for sale in Funchal experienced the largest drop in Portugal during the second quarter of 2026, with a 33% decrease compared to the same period last year. This reduction is the most significant among the district capitals and autonomous regions analyzed by Idealista.
The decline in Funchal surpassed those recorded in Faro (-27%) and Porto (-19%). Across the island of Madeira, the housing supply for sale fell by 22%, also the largest decrease among the island districts and regions studied. Nationally, the stock of houses available for sale decreased by 6% during the same period.
