Grupo Girão, a Madeiran company with over 40 years of experience in egg production, has reached a historic milestone by becoming the first entity in the Autonomous Region of Madeira to obtain Animal Welfair certification for free-range egg production.
This international recognition validates the company's commitment to animal welfare, sustainability, and food quality, reinforcing its strategic investment in transitioning from cage systems to free-range production. The Animal Welfair certification is one of Europe's most rigorous, assessing criteria such as freedom of movement, access to resources, and environmental conditions.
João César Nunes, group administrator, highlighted the pride and responsibility of being the first certified company in Madeira, reaffirming the commitment to quality, animal welfare, and innovation.
