The 'Funchal Sempre Melhor' Coalition, represented by João Gomes da Silva, has highlighted the municipality's commitment to education and family support.
Applications are now open for the Basic Education Textbook Grant Program for the 2026/2027 academic year. The initiative aims to ensure no child is left behind due to economic reasons, easing family expenses and complementing regional aid.
Applications are accepted online until October 30th for students in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cycles of Basic Education who have resided in the municipality for over a year and are enrolled in local schools. Support is provided as an Education Voucher via the Citizen's Card, usable at participating stores until December 31st. The City Council has already approved the first payments for those who have submitted their applications.
