The Vice-President of Funchal Municipal Council, Carlos Rodrigues, welcomed a delegation of 26 public officials and an interpreter from Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea, on Thursday, October 16th. The study visit focused on local administration and regional development.
The South Korean delegation showed particular interest in Funchal's experiences with sustainable tourism, destination management, local economic development, and managing the impact of increasing visitor numbers. The enhancement of natural, cultural, and heritage resources, as well as the synergy between tourism and the local economy, were also discussed.
The meeting aimed to foster the exchange of experiences and knowledge between the two territories, both of which place significant importance on tourism, natural resources, and sustainable regional development.
