The Ponta Delgada Bathing Complex has temporarily closed to undergo survey and diagnostic work, which precedes a future rehabilitation project budgeted at approximately 525,000 euros, according to a statement from the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure.
This decision follows a bathing season with high attendance, during which the complex saw an average of 300 users per day and over 8,800 entries in August. This year, the complex was under the direct management of the Development Societies, reopening to meet the demand for leisure spaces and sea access on Madeira's north coast.
The planned intervention aims to enhance the complex's safety, accessibility, and functionality, thereby improving the quality of the facility and its capacity to serve users. The rehabilitation seeks to continue the enhancement of the Ponta Delgada Bathing Complex, recognized as a key location for the parish, the São Vicente municipality, and the north coast of Madeira.
