Gaula Celebrates Patron Saint Festival of Nossa Senhora da Luz

The parish of Gaula will celebrate the festival of Nossa Senhora da Luz, its patron saint, with a three-day program including novenas, masses, and musical performances.

The parish of Gaula, in Madeira, will be in the spotlight for three days with the celebration of the festival in honor of Nossa Senhora da Luz, its patron saint.

The event begins on Friday, September 18, with a novena and mass at 8 PM, followed by a performance by singer João Abreu at 9:30 PM.

On Saturday, September 19, the day starts with fireworks at 12 PM, followed by the Santa Cruz Municipal Band at 5 PM. The evening will feature a novena and eucharist at 8 PM, and performances by Amigos da Música and Márcio Amaro.

Sunday, September 20, will have the Santa Cruz Municipal Band starting at 1:30 PM, followed by eucharist and procession at 3 PM. The Folklore Group of Casa do Povo de Gaula, the group «O Brinquinho», João Abreu, and Diogo Freitas will entertain the afternoon and evening, with closing scheduled for 11 PM.
