A 63-year-old German tourist fell this afternoon on the Levada do Caldeirão Verde, in the municipality of Santana.
The Santana Volunteer Firefighters were mobilized to provide assistance, sending eight personnel and three vehicles to the scene. The tourist is suspected of having a sprained leg and required assistance from emergency services.
Authorities advise caution on hiking trails due to recent rains, recommending proper footwear and vigilance on wet and uneven paths.
