Green Market Madeira will hold its 8th edition on September 19th and 20th, for the first time in Ribeira Brava, at the town's new square. The event, which aims to bring sustainability closer to daily life in an accessible and inspiring way, will run from 12 PM to 8 PM.
Applications for artisans, local producers, associations, and innovative brands are open until August 5th via an online form. As part of European Mobility Week, this year's eco-market theme is 'Move the Future', encouraging reflection on mobility, public space use, and the impact of small individual changes.
The event will feature workshops, activities for all ages, show cookings, and awareness actions, bringing together entities committed to the circular economy. The Mayor, Jorge Santos, highlighted the importance of creating opportunities to revitalize public spaces and support local entrepreneurship, viewing the Green Market as a crucial moment to reflect on consumption and resources.
Co-organizer Carlota Gouveia expressed hope that this edition marks the beginning of a lasting partnership with the municipality, promoting conscious consumption habits and local trade. The organization maintains its rotating participation model to ensure novelty in each edition.
