The Municipality of Câmara de Lobos is promoting 'Há Banda na Baía' (There's a Band in the Bay) from July to September, a series of performances dedicated to valuing the municipality's philharmonic tradition.
Part of the 'Itinerante - Cultural Decentralization Project', the initiative includes the participation of the four local philharmonic bands: Banda Municipal de Câmara de Lobos - Filarmónica do Recreio dos Lavradores, Banda Recreio Camponês, Banda Orquestral de Câmara de Lobos “Os Infantes”, and Banda Filarmónica Aliança Velha.
The performances, which begin with a street parade and culminate in a concert by the bay, aim to celebrate the cultural identity and musical heritage of Câmara de Lobos, recognizing the historical role of philharmonic bands in the community.
